Hey Rare Ones! Welcome back to the Be Rare Podcast, the space I hold for us to embrace our full HUMANITY, to courageously GROW into the women we DESIRE to be, and to unlock the incredible POWER hidden within our PAIN. This is your space, this is your reminder: BE RARE.
In our previous episodes, we've explored self-awareness, the power of your "why," the journey of seeking help, and the authenticity of growing with God even through grief and anger. 1 Now, in Episode 5, I'm sharing a chapter of my life that felt like complete devastation but ultimately led to a profound rebuilding: the journey from breakdown to breakthrough.
In this soul-shifting episode, I open up about hitting what felt like rock bottom. I faced significant personal losses around the same time – my job, a significant relationship, the passing of my beloved grandmother, and honestly, losing pieces of my own identity in the process. It felt like everything was being stripped away, leaving me questioning everything I thought I knew about myself and my life.
But what looked and felt like absolute devastation was actually the powerful, albeit painful, beginning of a transformation. I share how I came to understand that God wasn't punishing me by taking things away; He was actually rebuilding me. He was dismantling a shaky, external foundation built on things that could be lost, to build something far stronger, rooted deep within me – a foundation of truth, unshakeable confidence, inherent worthiness, and genuine freedom.
Through sharing raw, emotional parts of my story, personal revelations that came in the quiet moments, and the faith-filled insight I gained along the way, this episode serves as a powerful reminder. Sometimes, life has to break you open – crack you wide open – so that it can then rebuild you in a way that is true, strong, and aligned with who you are meant to be.
This conversation is for anyone who is currently feeling like they are losing everything, who is standing amidst the rubble of what once was, but who deep down holds onto a flicker of hope that something better, something more solid, is being built in its place.
Here’s a glimpse into what you’ll hear in this episode:
Why your internal foundation – your beliefs, your identity, your mindset – is the most crucial factor in what you can build and carry in life.
The profound difference between simply trying to repair a broken structure versus allowing a complete rebuilding from the ground up.
How I experienced God uprooting insecurity, scarcity mindsets, and fear to instead plant deep roots of confidence, clarity, and purpose within me.
The impact of generational beliefs around money, worth, and self-image, and how holding onto them can limit the very future you desire.
The challenging truth that I had to let go of nearly everything external in order to discover the authentic person I really am beneath it all.
A powerful message that what feels like punishment is often preparation for what you’ve been praying for.
These are some essential key takeaways from our conversation:
God may, at times, tear down what feels familiar or comfortable in your life in order to rebuild something that is truly firm and lasting.
Rebuilding your life from the inside out is not easy work, but it is absolutely necessary to stand strong in the life you've been praying for.
You have the power and the permission to choose which old beliefs, habits, and patterns you will not carry with you into your new season.
What feels like devastating loss in the moment can often be the very thing that creates a powerful legacy for your future.
Your internal foundation simply has to be stronger and more stable than any external fears or challenges you face.
And here is a challenge for you this week, Rare One:
Take some quiet time this week to reflect on one area in your life where it feels like God (or the universe, or life itself) might be in the process of rebuilding your foundation. Grab a journal or just some paper and ask yourself these questions: 📝 What belief, habit, or pattern feels like it needs to be uprooted or let go of in this season? 📓 Journal about what kind of "house" or life you truly want to build next – and what kind of internal foundation (qualities, beliefs, truths) it needs to stand strong against any storm. Then, take a moment to pray or meditate. Ask for strength and peace to embrace your current season, even if it feels uncertain, messy, or uncomfortable. Trust that you are being prepared.
