Hey Rare Ones! Welcome back to the Be Rare Podcast, your dedicated space to truly be HUMAN, to intentionally GROW into the woman you deeply DESIRE to be, and to learn how to channel your PAIN into undeniable POWER. You are THAT GIRL, and I'm here to remind you: BE RARE.
In Episode 1, we talked about becoming unapologetically self-aware. In Episode 2, we explored the vital importance of knowing your "why" to anchor you. Now, in Episode 3, I’m opening up about a topic that hits close to home for so many of us: the journey of seeking help, especially when it feels like the "help" you're getting just... isn't helping.
This episode is deeply vulnerable for me. I get really honest about my own experiences with trying to find support – from navigating some truly frustrating therapy sessions that didn't feel right, to the moments of spiritual breakthrough that guided me. I share the highs, the lows, and the crucial lessons I learned on the often-messy path of learning how to ask for help, even when it felt uncomfortable, confusing, or downright disappointing.
I reflect on my own healing journey and how growing up without a clear blueprint for emotional well-being led me to normalize pain, to silence my true feelings, and to often feel incredibly alone in my struggles. But I also share how, through leaning into my faith, embracing relentless persistence, and eventually connecting with the right life coach who truly saw me, I was able to uncover the root causes of some of my deepest patterns. This is where I slowly, sometimes painstakingly, began to find my voice, reclaim my confidence, and step into a new level of freedom.
This episode is for anyone who has ever felt stuck, unsupported, or felt like they had to figure everything out entirely on their own. If you’ve taken the brave step to seek help but felt misunderstood, let down, or like you were just spinning your wheels, please know you are not alone. This episode is my reminder to you: keep going. The right kind of help, the support that truly catalyzes change in your life, might be just around the corner.
Here are some key takeaways I hope you hold onto after listening:
"Sometimes the help ain't helping" – And that is genuinely okay. Please don't stop seeking the support you need just because the first, second, or even third option wasn't the right fit. Your well-being is worth the continued search.
Go beyond surface-level fixes. True, lasting healing comes when you are able to address the root causes of your pain, your triggers, and the patterns that keep showing up in your life.
Books can be powerful tools. When traditional therapy or coaching isn't accessible or hasn't worked for you yet, immersing yourself in the stories of other women who have overcome similar challenges through books can be incredibly transformative and provide valuable insights.
You don’t need a blueprint. If you come from a background where emotional health or seeking help wasn't modeled, that doesn't mean you can't heal. You absolutely can be the first in your family to create a new, healthy, healed path forward.
You don’t have to heal alone. Actively seek out or build a support system, a community, or even just connect deeply with one person who can truly see you and walk with you through this journey.
Listen to Episode 3 to hear these memorable quotes and feel their power:
“Getting help helped me love me—and I didn’t used to love me.” This is the ultimate outcome of doing the work.
“Just because the help isn’t helping doesn’t mean you stop trying.” This is the core message of persistence in this episode.
“I don’t want to go to war with life by myself. I want my people with me.” A powerful reminder of the need for community and support.
“You can still grow even if you're still getting help. I’m living proof of that.” Growth is a continuous process, not a destination where help is no longer needed.
And here’s a challenge for you this week, Rare One:
Take a quiet moment to reflect: What area in your life are you still trying to figure out completely on your own?
Could you read a book about it? Could you reach out to someone you trust? Could you research one type of support? Start small, but please, start somewhere.
After you listen, DM me your weekly win or where you’ve taken even just one small step toward growth! I would absolutely love to celebrate you and cheer you on!
